For forty years, local families have partnered with Amarillo Habitat for Humanity to build and buy affordable places to call home.

Beh Beh, Do and their children are eagerly awaiting the completion of their home currently under construction. Beh Beh and Do brought their family to the United States after over two decades in Thailand, where they sought refuge from the ongoing political upheaval in Burma. Beh Beh and Do will buy their new home in Amarillo with an affordable mortgage and provide the family with a place of their very own.

More families are working towards homeownership in partnership with Amarillo Habitat. The families have completed 30 financial stability classes and are busy completing "sweat equity" volunteer hours.

An affordable mortgage can mean so much—predictable housing costs, an opportunity to build wealth and a permanent place to call home.
